sticking lace to card

i am making my own wedding invitations and have bought some lovely ivory lace to stick to them. i have read that i am best either using spray glue or red double sided tape? I wondered if the spray glue would be too fiddly to use? I also want to know if I used the tape, would dust etc be able to get through the lace to stick to the tape? the lace is only fine. would i put tape on the card to stick the entire surface of the lace or would i just put a thin line so just sticking the edge of the lace? i don't have to heat the tape or anything do i?

the safest way is add it by taping it on the back, but it would mean an extra layer on your card. depending on your design or how much lace you are using, this may not be practical.
I would use the thinnest Red Line tape as possible if you are attaching to the front, as like you say dust could get through, alternatively cover the edge with another embellishment.

If you can get hold of sticky dots id use them as they only stick where there is lace.

i usually use red tape as nothing else works for me, but i make my card using a seperate layer of base card then mount it onto card blank, then all messy bits hidden underneath lol x

well i have paper for the inserts. so would i fold the ends of the lace over the front and glue at the back with the red tape and then i could stick my paper insert over the top? or would this not look good?
so nobody would recomend the spray glue?

ive never used spray glue hun so no clue, you could just fold over and glue down if ya using a paper insert i guess, i usuall cut a piece of cardstaick same size or slightly smaller as my card blank use that to decorate then stick on top of card blank that way it hides allsorts underneath like lace/ribbon/brads etc,

I use dst on the lace and wrap around the Edge of the card on both sides Then the insert hides the inside edges of the lace ... if the dst shows through the lace could you not cover it with some nice Ivory Ribbon....

Id say Spray glue is a no-no on lace as it would go through the lace ...Plus I always get into a mess with it..
