Update on Sunday by Mary E on Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:49 pm
Rozzy suggested that I write again and tell you about the visit to my friend on Sunday, Well the surprise went off very well, I called her first thing on Sunday morning and sang Happy Birthday over the phone (Not a pleasent experience for anyone)  we laughed because that is what we always do  (Sing I mean, and to think of it Laugh as well) and I asked if she was doing anything for her big day, she said that she was going out for lunch with the family and I asked where? then Ken had a word whith her and he did the same so she had no idea that we would be there. It's nearly a 3hr trip so we arrived at about 12 45pm they were all due at 1,O-clock I was just ordering a prelunch sherry when in she...

Fab. weekend by sharon79 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 8:58 pm
What a lovely weekend I've just had, I'm exhausted now.
We had a long weekend visiting our parents/in-laws in N. Lincs. On Friday I joined my Mum and 7 of her crafting friends, some of whom I've know since I was a kid, for a craft day. Four hours of crafting in a village hall, fantastic......Hubby took kids and his Mum out for the day so I didn't have to keep the kids entertained at the same time. I don't know of any craft groups near me, really want to find one now as had so much fun. Anyone know of any in West Oxfordshire? Shame my Mum lives 3 hrs away!! Next time I will see her is when we meet up at the NEC craft show.
On Sat. we visited more relatives and I got an order for 6 cards....... OK all from my Mother-in-law, but they still count :) Today we did a huge detour back to Oxfordshire via Manchester to see one of my uni friends and her family. We had a good catch up and some lovely food whilst...

It will be Mothering Sunday soon.....so at The Crafty Pad this week the challenge is....
We'd like you to give your project some charm for your Mum or friend......and to use at least one on charm on your project.

Enforced break by sydalg on Sun Mar 07, 2010 7:26 am
Having to take a short break this week as new heating is being put in place on Wednesday and I have to move a lot of furniture around to make space for the new heaters and for the work to be done. I have done some of the themed swaps already but may have to miss a few this month as I can't get at my craft stuff very easily. Hopefully I will be back to normal in about 10 days when I have worked out whre to put all my bookshelves and craft stuff.

Thanks for reading and for your comments.

This Sunday is a special day, because it's my dearest oldest friend Margarets 75th Birthday, Margaret and I have been friends for over 70 years my very first memory is of playing by myself in our front garden just after we had moved house when this little girl in a blue dress with a white satin ribbon in her dark hair apeared at the gate and said "can I play" and there the stry begins.
We were about three or four she lived at no 6 I lived at no 16, we started school on the same day, spent all our childhood together it was during the war and both our fathers were away in the army so we ran wild, every day seems to have been sunny we ran in fields covered in buttercups and daisys we lay in the grass by the brook watching the Kingfishers we fished for minnows in the river and the brook we had the most wonderful child hood in the middle of the country with not a care. We went to Grammar School together and were in the same class all through we then went our seperate ways for a time...
