Splurge by ceej on Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:00 pm
Yippee the postman has started to beat a path to my door laden with goodies ... I had a bit of a post Xmas splurge on books and crafty stuff - topped up on some basics and got some bargains in sales ....and now the orders are starting to trickle in. It is always such fun opening the packages and seeing all the pretties spill out. I don't doubt I shall spend the next couple of days admiring all my new goodies...and then I shall have the problem of where on earth am I going to put all this STUFF!!!!! Of course I can justify each and every purchase...Its amazing how I never seem to have the right shade of whatever colour I am working with - and so need to buy the extra paper/card My poor hubby just came in, took one look and rolled his eyes....I'm betting I have two days tops before he'll start to hint about... Bleeding on a project is not a good idea by ceej on Tue Jan 06, 2009 11:00 pm
I have been experimenting a bit today because I really need to broaden my horizons and learn/try some new styles and techniques...so I thought I'd have a go at a perforated/stitched panel.. Hmmm I probably should have known better since (many moons ago) rather than waiting for me to make a choice, my needlework teacher dumped me as soon as options kicked in Considering 90% of my sewing efforts have ended in disaster...accidentally sewed a pocket shut when sewing a button back on his coat....the signs weren't exactly promising. It wasn't going too bad at first. I was very careful and was concentrating really hard...and then of course I got over confident - how hard can it be pulling a needle and thread for some pre made holes after all? Well that bit isn't all that hard - even for me...but sticking myself with the needle came really far more easily than I would have liked...and... [ Continued ]

hi everyone by theboss on Tue Jan 06, 2009 5:47 pm
i thought it was time for an update, so here goes: The craft club met today and outside it was below zero, we were pleased to get in the warm. I was amazed how one of our members actually got pictures of st george for our st georges day cards, its something different and some one else managed to get little metal charms of the st georges flag to use on cards, it was fun and i think if you attempted it you would love it to. Another thing we did was make angel cards, these are very popular in my church and sell well, if any of you do sales, i would recomend them a lot. when i get used to this site a bit more i will tell you how to make them. Plus of course theres always other cards like mothers day to think about and easter etc, but i love trying out new things where ever i am, happy crafting.
