update on emma

Permanent Linkby tracy43 on Tue Aug 18, 2009 11:18 pm

emmas eeg was normal, docter is reluctant to put her on meds as there is nothing to indicate wether epilepsy is the cause of her seizures or not, she sent her for a ecg that was normal, the only thing the eeg shown was a slight delayed reaction but not sure in how or what area this was in, she has reccomended a sleep deprivation eeg, i thought this would be a tough one as emma has habit of going to sleep late but they said they will give her a sedative to make her go to sleep. the dr asked had emma ever seen anyone have a seizure and it occured to me that there was a theory that emma was acting, this i strongly rejected, the epilepsy nurse asked could she come round to see us but didnt explain why, anyways she was to come tomorrow but has cancelled untill next week as she has flu. as my daughter in law witnessed the tail end of the last seizure i have asked her if i can call on her to describe what she saw if need be. if the sleep eeg is normal im not sure whats next as the dr said emma...

swine flu in our schools

Permanent Linkby tracy43 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 3:44 pm

halfway home from taking emma to school got four text telling me 3 teachers have gone down with mild flu like symptons, seems a pupis relative was confirmed as having swine flu was quarantined but the children went to school as usual, majority of our year 10s left the building as soon as they could. was meant to be the parents requesting this happen but most of the students hung round the area, they have said they are taking tuesday off as well returning on wednesday for the trip to blackpool then taking the rest of the week off. we have been told it is now so common place that you could pick it up in asda or the trafford centre or even someone walking past you in the street who sneezes. hollie has also come home with a letter stating there is a known case of it a family member of a child attending her school, my daughter told me this on friday but i was dubious about believing it outright knowing kids make jokes about this sort of thing. seems now its a case of well we have been amongst...

lol
been a tad down in the dumps, and not been in any of my craft groups for what seems ages,
just to do a quick update
emma had her eeg this week so need to wait untill her appointment in august to find out whats what,
we got a second kitten last sunday and at moment feel like im doing nothing but feeding cleaning and breaking up the squabbles. tigger has grown loads and loves nothing more than to lie next to me, much to hollies disappointment, silver is another tortoiseshell but looks like he is going to be a long haired type and hes lighter coloured than tigger who is more black and brown.
anyways will try to catch up on events later today but at moment i have a mountain of ironing and neglected housework to get done first, and a card for my boss to make, being a horse lover i can crack this one easy enough (i think) so not much inspiration needed as i have images and a few horsey peel offs lol.
hopefully catch you alls later today or tomorrow ttfn

emma had her visit at the hospital, and the docter said she was epileptic and that the incidences at school, sensation of swirly rooms and the feeling she was going to faint on one occassion that i know of and saw, were down to absent seizures, she cant go on medication as yet untill she has had her eeg, its been marked as urgent but pendlebury is moving to a new built hospital, once she has had the eeg it will then be a visit to the epilepsy clinic at our hospital to be decided what medication she will be needing, i have allready alerted them to the fact emma wont take tablets so they will give her it in liquid form, we have been advised that untill the dosage is spot on for her there may be an increase in seizures, but then again she may not have any more and medication be stopped after 2 years and they return. it has also seemingly been brought up that the absent seizures may have been going on for a while in primary school because i happened to mention how one teacher who had...

been verry verrry stressed as well as busy
but thought i would let you all know , 1 had my tooth nerve removed last wednesday and my denture fitted every thing was ok untill saturday when the denture feels as if its moved slightly and isnt fitting as well as it did, the edge of the tooth where it meets the gum is protruding slightly irratating my lip, despite being told not to remove it for a week i tried to so i could replace it and hope it went in place, managed to get the back bit to come away but the front was stuck fast so i gave up in case i broke it, thankfully dentist is going to remove it tomorrow and show me how to clean replace and remove it and also to check if my gum has healed properly, secondly i got my first pair of glasses on saturday and although i havent worn them today have managed over an hours continious wear except at work as my jobs this week are too fast paced and wearing the glasses give me a whoozy feeling.
lastly but more importantly, emma had another...
