Terrible act!!!

Permanent Linkby tazzy on Thu Nov 17, 2011 11:20 am

I was reading our local newspaper yesterday evening When on the Front page was a story of an elderly gentle man of 80 years young!!! Who had his home burgled!!! While he was in hospital overnight... The Thieves took £20.00 from his wallet and his military veterans lapel pin!!! WHY!!!??? I ask myself... the pins are valueless!!!! but mean so much.... to the now aged Hero's ...and this gent was so proud of his!

words fail me sorry... But My hubby has a "Spare veterans lapel pin" so I phoned the newspaper this morning and have offered it to the gent!!!! We dont want Thank you's I told the reporter.. We just want the gentle man to wear his well deserved loved pin with Pride again..... and hope it restores a bit of human faith....

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

Some people are so despicable. To burgle anyones home when they are not there is an act of cowadice anyway but to do it to an elderly person whilst they are in hospital is so mean. £20 and a pin isnt much for the effort of getting in etc. Hope the gent accepts your kindness and takes the offer of a replacement pin badge.

Met His daughter before and gave her Franks spare one! still in its presentation box Aww.. The paper got his age wrong (typical) hes not 80 He is 90 years young tomorrow!!!
She was overjoyed with the gesture.. I was in tears.. He is so lovely!!! Such a kind quiet true heroic gent!! aww...
We didnt want to be Thanked we just wanted to do what any other decent person would do who was capable of doing so... Just to try and restore a bit of faith in human nature...
I hope the "Scum-bags" get their comeuppance!!! I really do... Theres even a code of honor among hardened criminals in jails!!

A heartwarming tale, I'm sure the gentleman really appreciated your hubby's kindness. Can't print what I really think about the scum-bags!!
God bless,
