I thought you might be interested in seeing katie at work. One of her daily tasks is to empty the washer for me. Intraining this would start with putting a toy in the washing machine. because the dog is fixated on the toy they take it out. this behaviour is rewarded and commands added till eventually the dog will do it on command. this is a job tha katie loves to do especially since every third item she takes out of the machine she gets a treat. believe me if i miscount she parks her back side on the floor and gives me that look that says "hang on misses havn't you forgotten something" once i have pick up the cat food I ask to sit open the washer point inside and say fetch. she put he head into the maching grabs an item pulls it out- If it is a towl or a pair of jeans this can be quite a tug. she then sits i hold the item and say thankyou to get her to release it. if she does not sit she thinks it is time for a game of tug of war
