Update on my last entry. The Ave Maria theme did not go any further as on Monday I was woken by the theme from Jurassic Park. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings were music I did not know and then yesterday it was the theme from The Magnificent Seven which, as the volume had got turned up, was quite a shock to the system . This morning it was again a piece of music I did not know, so no more spooky happenings. It is nice and sunny here in North Kent though a bit breezy. My four cats, all ten and over now, are lazing around. They do very little these days and look at me as if I'm mad if I open the door for them to go out and also when doing housework and have to disturb them. I had one who was inclined to attack the cord of the vacuum cleaner and managed to unplug it on occasions. Going to do some housework now so that will cause a disturbance no doubt. Bye for now

Hi all - a bit of a quicker return than I anticipated but thought I would tell you of a spooky happening so here goes. Firstly I have been having problems with sleeping lately due in some degree to the fact that as an OAP with no-one but myself to please I tend to sleep erratically at times and this I think is why I'm tired so much. I have four cats and usually get up any time between 0700 and 0800 to feed them and then depending on how early that is go back to bed for a snooze whilst they eat. Unfortunately sometimes I go right off again and then feel so tired . In order to combat this I decided to get up at a regular time and not go to bed too late. I set my clock/radio's alarm to 0815 as a start. The first day was yesterday, Saturday, and woke up to Hayley Westernra singing Ave Maria. This worked fine and, having fed the cats around 0740, I got up again at 0815 and... [ Continued ]

It's been a couple of months since I was here in blogland so thought I pay a return visit and update you on my less (much less) than exciting life. Lately technology has somewhat got the better of me - I was a computer programmer before retirement so it really shouldn't though. I decided to rearrange my workspace which includes my computer and crafting paraphanalia. Unfortunately this entailed some unplugging and replugging of my computer, printer and scanner and the upshot was that I can now no longer use my broadband on my main PC and am having to use my laptop. It might be me (large fingers or touch typist ) or it might not but I have never got on the laptop keyboards so have to attach a normal keyboard plus the printer and scanner and have therefore to use a mini-hub. I'm not enamoured with... [ Continued ]

Well would you Adam and Eve it, that's the first six months of 2009 done and dusted . Can't quite believe it but we are now at the start of the second six months and that means next Christmas is closer than last - sobering thought eh . It also means we are only a couple of months away from the first Christmas cards appearing in the shops. It also means we will have to start thinking about making our own . I don't have many to send out - small family etc - but my daughter usually puts in a hefty order as her husband has a large family and she sends them at her work. I used to send plenty when I was working but since retiring at the end of 2000 it has got less and less - means... [ Continued ]

Just have to mark the end of what has been for me a fairy fraught week. To elucidate (clever word) eh Last week one of my cats had to have some teeth out so Tuesday was check-up day which went okay thank goodness. Unfortunately he seems to have trouble digesting his food and has been sick a couple of times so keeping my fingers crossed that's all it is. In 1999/2000 I underwent treatment for breast cancer so when I discovered another lump on the other side it was off to the doctor and on Thursday I had my hospital appointment. After much stressing I was relieved to be told that it was only a cyst though as it is close to the breast I have to have it removed - deep joy - so must wait for an appointment. I was two hours in the breast clinic and then another hour and a half waiting for blood tests for my diabetes. That was a fun day - not. ... [ Continued ]
