Lil Handbag Tutorial

Permanent Linkby craftytracy on Sun May 17, 2009 6:23 pm

Okay now this is the one everybody wanted Over and Over again at my Demonstration on Saturday, at the Range Truro, It was lovely to see all the regulars and some new ladies too. It really amazes me At demonstrations every time there are new people coming into the crafting world, It truly is a wonderful fun Hobby.

Any now back to the task at hand. I Used LLB products, Retro Rose papers, brads and tassles.

Lookie at what we are going to do today. (if you want to that is).

Image

So pretty and Darn cute too, me thinks.

Right here goes.

Step 1) Take a piece of cardstock 12 inches x 6 inches.

Image

Step 2) turn it sideways on and inside facing up, using a ruler and scoring tool score as shown at 2", then after 4", Then after 1", and the another 1".

Image

Step 3) Fold as shown.

Image

Step 4) stand it up, I have included a full frontal photo and a side view one, this is what you should have.

Image

Image

Step 4) decorate,
as you can see on mine, across the flap I have put a ribbon, tassle and brad, and also ribbon for the handle. It is quite simple. for the handle; come in 1/2 inch from either end and with a craft knife cut a slit the width of your ribbon at each end. tuck in the ribbon and hold in place with double sided tape.

You can see the inside of my flap below, I then covered this with a matching piece of cardstock to hide all that mess.

So finished result is a gorgeous little handbag, For Variations why not omit the handle and have it as a little clutch bag, or go a step further and make a beaded handle with some beads and strong Jewellery wire.

Hope you like it.

Really thought this was great, I needed something different. I live in Spain and find it very difficult to get ideas, there are very few craft shops, and they are usually miles away, so I find ideas and instructions on the site very useful, thanks again. Lavenderhill.
