Blog Subject:  Kate Knight Card - Tutorial

Now as Promised I was working late last night. To Bring you something with the New Kate Knight Range, I will be doing this at my demos too, so this will help peeps remember how to do it.

Now I tried and this is my first time doing something like this so please be kind. I am no way subjecting you to my delicate tones on Video.

So here is my finished card. Oh when folded down it fits into a DL envelope but the card is quite substantial opened out.

Right I have given the instructions for the main structure, you can then decorate as you wish.

1) Take a piece of 12" x 12" cardstock and cut to 30cm wide x 21.5cm tall

Image

2) Turn your cardstock over and on the back mark score lines across the width at 6cm, 12cm, 18cm and 24cm from top to bottom, DO NOT score Just yet. This leaves you with 5 equal panels.
Image

3) On the middle panel find the centre point across the top and bottom and measue 5cm down an up. Marked on Picture with the centre black dots. (to help me keep straight I have also marked this 5cm mark on the side of the panels). From these centre dots Measure out 5.25cm either side at top and bottom draw a straight line and then join the two sides by drawing a line. This gives you a rectangle as shown.
Image

4) With a craft knife cut both the sides of this rectangle and then just intowards the sides of the centre panel.
Image

5) Score all the lines now, remembering not to score into the rectangle, Fold as shown in the photograph. and decorate as desired.

Once you have done this once you can change the shape in the middle to any shape you wish.

Let me know what you think.

Happy Crafting.

Wow Tracey!! Even I can manage this with such clear instructions. You have put a lot of thought into this. Thankyou. I too, would bookmark it - if I knew what that meant! (I am computer challenged). Will have to ask my daughter to help with that when she visits tomorrow evening.

Thanks Tracey for such clear instructions, I was able to follow them even though I'm really new to card making.
