a new thingMoney is still a bit tight, but with dad's birthday on Weds I seem to have had a moment of inspiration! I never quite know what to buy...so thought I might make something instead...but what? I will make some gingerbread biscuits tomorrow as he requested some after he finished the ones I made him for christmas. Last week I bought the Making Cards BOGOF Summer Specials and Kids one, and there were some good gardening piccies in there. I already made him a pop up card type thing, so decided some kind of 'picture' might be nice. Not having a suitable 3D frame, I found a small cardboard front-opening box and decided to use that. See my gallery for the finished results. Luckily I had also bought some buttony type things from ebay so managed to find some bits to go in the 'shed'.

1) I have started a latch hook rug (always wanted to do one of these) 2) I am sorting fabrics ready for a patchwork something (maybe a bedcover, not sure yet) 3) I am selling craft stuff on ebay for my friend (it was her mum's stuff and she died last year) I even found time to do some ironing 1 Comment Viewed 509 times new jobSO now I've started a new part-time job I'll have more money to spend on stuff...and less time to spend actually doing it LOL.
I've just taught myself to knit socks - no, they are not very hard, and yes, it is very addictive. I did knit lots of Christmas presents this year...gloves, hats, toys, tissue covers (some piccies in my gallery), plus a couple of cross-stitch pictures and some sponge bags. I found it very satisfying to finish so many items and the recipients appreciated it so much more than some bought rubbish Wonder whether I'll get round to starting that silk painting this year... 4 Comments Viewed 580 times christmas cardsJust had a couple of friends round for a few hours to make christmas cards. I got all my stuff out plus some cards I'd made previously as my 2 friends are beginners. I made sure we had lots of tea, coffee and chocolates handy and off we went. We all had fun and made loads of mess and about 8 cards each. We have arranged to meet again on 31st to make some more.

I've just placed a £92 order with Baker Ross, but only £10 for me (rest for a friend and our kids craft club). I've been sewing loads of velcro pencil cases for the craft club kids to decorate next week. Not done much card making as there's been too many other things to do, but I have a couple of friends coming over on 10th to make xmas cards, so I need to sort out all my bits before then. My 3rd pregnant friend is getting a crocheted blanket in all colours, so doesn't matter whether she has a boy or girl. Time for bed now I think 0 Comments Viewed 709 times |
