Nurse!

Permanent Linkby Troubledee on Mon Mar 09, 2009 5:24 pm

Hi Guys,

I went to see the nurse about an injection and I told her how I had lost 1 stone and 2lb and that my first goal was 13stone. She was saying well done to me then told me that my proper goal is 10 stone 3lb :o . I don't think I was that weight at the age of ten ;) . I said I would look ill, just skin and bones at that. She then told me off and said that no I would not look ill. So it looks like my second target is going to be 10 stone 3lb.

First 13 stone here I come!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

I was thinking of an arm and a leg that I may have to give up for my target.

Jane, don't let her discourage you! You are doing really well :D Just take it in small, slow stages and see how far you can get without feeling and looking drawn and tired. Even a small weight loss has tremendous health benefits.
... now to jump on my aerobic step :)
God bless,

Take no noice of that nurse Jane. Keep going for the 13 stone and then see how you feel. I think I should be about 9 stone for my height (5ft 6in) but I was always comfortable at 10 to 10.5 stone even 11 and I was bordering between a size 12 and 14.
I currently weigh about 15 stone but everyone still doesn't think I look it (apart from my folks that is-oh and me).I keep telling them you that they wouldnt say that if they see me without my clothes on. I know I overweight and would dearly love to get back down to 13 stone at the moment but I just can't budge it. It's annoying as I eat an awful lot less than I did 10 years ago. Something'll give though soon, the longer days are coming so I'll be able to take my dogs out when I come home from work. Can't be doing with going out in the dark as there aren't many street lights round here being in the sticks.
Good luck with the continued weight loss and well done.
PS Hows Jennifer doing lately? hopefully she's doing ok too.

Sammy 72 you sound like me. I weighed 15stone 4lbs and my mom has always said i am fat, i am now dieting and have a target weight of 10 stone, so i need to loose a third of my body weight, seems impossible but will try my hardest. I have done three weeks so far and have lost over half a stone. Fingers crossed we can all achieve what we want and if we don't at least we know we have tried our best.

im 5.6 and accordint to the know alls im supposed to be between 9.5 and 10.5 stone, im 9.5 stone and people say i look skinny, my heaviest was 11 stone verging on size 18 im now anything between sizes 10 12 and 14. depending on where i shop and a items design. i say go for what your comfortable with. i did what the dieticians said to put weight on when i was younger now i eat what when and how i like, im not a big sweet eater and im on my feet all day. after my dad died i lost 2stone within weeks and it hasnt gone back on since. amazing how people suddenly say things like you look so much better for losing the weight but then others say you look ill and scrawny. just be happy with you thats all that counts

I've always been big, am not at my heaviest now but getting help from the dietician at our surgery. She says:
1. Always eat breakfast, - this 'wakes up' your metabolism and starts it working on the food you eat throughout the day.
2. Exercise - early if you can, as this raises your metabolism all day. 30 minutes of moderate exercise (hot and sweaty) per day is recommended - doesn't all have to be in one go.
3. Keep a check on what you are eating, using a food diary to record everything, one day a week and one at the weekend.
4. Weigh yourself once a week, same time, same (or no) clothes
5. 500 calorie deficit (less) per day every day should lose you 1lb per week.

Hope that helps - best of luck everyone trying to lose weight :D
God bless,
Debbie xx
