A very sad weekLast week on Thurs 25th Feb our very loyal, beautiful King Charles Spanial 'Elly' passed away. She was 9 yrs old almost to the day. We had her from a 6 week old pup. She passed away in my bedroom from heart failure. She collapsed at my feet. Only the day before she had been running around the house like a puppy chasing her ball and trying to pinch my grandaughters biscuits.
I can still see her beautiful big brown eyes staring up at me. My partner, 4 children and I are all devestated by her passing (yes grown men do cry) but we have drawn comfort from knowing she was where she wanted to be at the time. I have tried to turn my attentions to crafting ( I even bought a cuttlebug machine at the weekend) but I'm finding it hard to concentrate at the moment. My eyes keep being drawn to her little resting place in the garden. I miss her so much. I know the pain will ease in time but I will never forget you, my beautiful little Elly. May you RIP xxxxx http://sandra-all-that-glitters.blogspot.com/

RE: A very sad weekSorry to hear about your dog its always sad when we lose a much loved pet. Try and remember all the fun you had with her. Take comfort in the fact that she didnt suffer and she will now be running around again like a puppy. Sending you
Sandra Keep grinning!
Re: A very sad weekI'm so sorry to hear about your poor dog. i know exactly the same feeling. We also had a cavalier, he was our first dog and we knew from a very young age that he had heart problems, but he lived well beyond the time anyone expected him to. he was ten and a half. We lost him back in 2002, but it still feels like yesterday.... we will never forget him and I'm sure you will be the same. It is hard to begin with, and if you are like me you will still be turning around to talk to him, even though he's not there. pets bring so much joy and love into our lives and ask for very little in return. He was loved and and I guess spoilt rotten and was where he wanted to be, by your side until the end.
Sending you love and hugs as I know you'll need them rozzy xx Trimmie Member of the Year 2008 http://rozzyb.blogspot.com/ DThttp://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/ & http://lexiscreations.blogspot.com/ ![]()

Re: A very sad weekThinking of you at this sad time, I lost my fur baby 3 years ago and still miss him terribly have two other fur babies now, who keep me busy. When I lost scrappy my friend told me that dogs go to heaven and play with all their friends until it is our time to go and thats when they meet us at the gates. I sure hope she's right.
hugs cj
Re: A very sad weekI'm so sorry to hear your sad news, I know exactly how you are feeling as we have lost three of our five cats in the last two and a half years...we had to have them put to sleep due to ill health/old age, so you are right to take some comfort from the fact that your Elly died naturally at home. Thinking of you all at this sad time

Re: A very sad weekSo sorry for your loss....pets are family and although it does ease with time, it hurts when they are gone....
Thank you all so very much for your support and encouragement.
Re: A very sad weekSorry to hear about your loss, pets are not 'just pets' but part of the family. Take care, x

Re: A very sad weekno matter how the day has been your dogs always give you unconditional love , when we lost ours it was horrendus we all kept crying husband said no more dogs but after 6 weeks i couldnt stand not having them around so now 1 springer & daughter, and 1 lab later (husband said he is not going to get so attached but he loves daisy the daughter , he spoils her she can do no wrong. Polly had 8 pups and i would have liked to have kept them all but we only kept daisy. Only regret is that all 3 are in a malt at moment so ever thing is a bit hairy.
