What a relief Time now to get excited

Permanent Linkby Mary E on Tue Jan 10, 2012 7:45 pm

Today Ken had an appointment to see a specialist in throat problems at our local Hospital as he
has had a really husky voice for ages and I was getting worried about it so persuaded him to seek medical advice (you know how difficult that is with a man)
We set off for his appointment only to find the council have road works on the road leading up to the Hospital it took us 30 minutes longer than usual to get there and when we did there was a long queue to get in the car park, so Ken had to leave me to park and rush off for his appointment, I followed on in due course.
Oh the relief when he came out. Nothing serious!! I was so worried although I tried not to let him know
He has a problem that effects quite a lot of older people he has some sort of acid reflux that occurs while he is asleep and it has caused swelling in his vocal area and, He has been given anti acid medication with instructions to go back in six weeks, so as it’s only 7 weeks until we go to Australia
I’ll be getting him...

An Eventful Day

Permanent Linkby Mary E on Sun Nov 13, 2011 4:21 pm

Yesterday was quite an event in our household Ken my dearly loved Husband also a Dad and grandad was 80 years old and we celebrated with a lunch at the local Golf Club with many firends and family who all came back to our place afterwards for tea and cake (and wine if they wanted it) We had a lovely day although I think Ken was a bit overcome by it all , particulary when a friend did a lovley speach about what a good friend he is and has been for years and how he looks after all the elderly neighbours and makes sure they are OK (which he does! and all but one are younger than him) I was so proud and touched I must admit to a little tear,
When everyone had gone home except my Brother and SiL who were staying overnight we settled down to watch the rememberance service and as you know the lottery came on just before and to cap Ken special day he had 4 numbers come up so won £54
Today we are recovering from all the excitement

does anyone know about arrhythmia

Permanent Linkby Mary E on Sat Jun 25, 2011 4:27 pm

I wonder does anyone know anything about arrythmia?? (uneven heart beat) I'm really quite worried as my daughter in Australia was carted off to Hospital on Friday early morning with just that,
She now has appointments with Hospitals doctors and a heart specialist but doesn't seem too it righted itself after about an hour and a half .
She feels fine now but tells me that it was a bit scary at the time although it frightened her daughter and her husband more than it did her .
She is always upbeat about everything so I don't really know what to think
I just wondered if anyone had had or has this condition and can tell me anything about it as heart problems have never occured in our family before

Such excitement in our sleepy corner

Permanent Linkby Mary E on Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:17 pm

I live in a village in Lincolnshire quite small only a hairdressers a post office and a fish and chip shop very quiet very sleepy untill today?????????????
We made the Television News (not in a good way)
We have in the village near the church up a very quiet path Healing Manor a beautiful old Manor house lived in by generations of wealthy people untill a couple of years ago when it was bought for convertion into a Hotel
The people behind this venture ran out of money and it has been left empty for about 18 months or so we thought.
That is until today when it was raided by the Police on Information recieved (as they say) and was discovered to contain a very large Cannabis factory with plants with estimated street value of 2 million pounds 6 people have been arrested and they found three illegal imigrants hiding in the roof.
The building has 80 rooms and numerous outbuildings so if they had not been discovered goodness knows what profit they would have made
As you can imagine it's...
