Re: Stamping on candlesI went on a course which was about decorating candles. You can also print onto tissue paper from the computer. Tape the tissue paper all round to a piece of normal paper. You would then be able to print photos etc. One difference to the video is that we used ordinary greseprrof paper to hold the tissue in place on the candle whilst we were heting it. This gives you more control although you do have to be careful about not having creases. We also used an expensive german candle rather than cheap candle as i was told the colours would bleed. I am still experimenting to disprove this. We also made a lovely box from card and acetate to enclose the candle.
The tissue used was plain tissue but it does need to be white. When you colour on the tissue have some absobant card underneath to catch the colours and make sure you move the tissue around. Be very careful colouring as the tissue will tear easily and then it is back to the start. Overall this process ha loads of potential for personalised candles etc. Hope this helps Lyn

Re: Stamping on candlesWell. What an easy way to make fabulous looking gifts (proven by everyone's submissions). Can't wait to have a go but have to do hubby's month end paperwork first. Boo. And of course, I HAVE to go and buy some new clothes to get the tissue paper that goes with them.
I do have a question though...does anyone know what happens to the tissue? Does it literally 'melt in' like the videos suggest or is it still there as a residue? Are the candles lightable? I would hate to give one as a gift only for it to spontaneously combust the first time it was lit! Heartfelt thanks to those of you who take the time to make comments & give constructive advice on my projects. Please feel free to have a nose at items I currently have for sale.... http://s843.photobucket.com/home/NStilgoe/allalbums Natalie xxx
